Taumba goes beyond creating a strategic plan document that you may never use! We assist not for profits with developing a multi year strategy and then support the team to operationalise that strategy and get you implementation ready.
We help you leverage your existing resources better, and execute your next steps sustainably be it expanding operations or adding new programs.
We develop comprehensive fundraising strategies for not for profits including details on who supports programs like yours, how to reach them, and the tools and systems you need to succeed at fundraising year after year.
Fundraising is more than just writing proposals, it is about aligning your vision to your operations, nurturing relationships with donors and continuous data collection.
Monitoring and evaluation or measuring the impact of your programs is critical, but it can be completely. We help not for profits develop appropriate impact evaluation metrics, activities and processes that are aligned with international standards.
Leadership can be lonely and challenging. Taumba provides on going coaching and support to services to not for profit leaders and managers. Our consultants are themselves former NGO executives and so have the experience to be effective thought partners to you as you steward your organisation.
GMin is an international non-profit that has provided STEM education, mentoring and entrepreneurial support to over a thousand teenagers in Kenya, Sierra Leone and South Africa. GMin was looking to expand its operations, and needed a fundraising strategy to enable that.
Taumba was engaged to support GMin’s Board and management in developing and implementing a multi year fundraising strategy. Our approach was holistic. We began by applying our Six Factor Audit Framework to identify areas of relative strength and weakness within the organisation. We identified “Strategic and operational cohesion” as a critical area for improvement before any fundraising efforts could begin.
Through workshops and collaborative planning sessions with on the ground program implementers, existing partners, management and board members, we translated GMin’s vision and high level strategy into a clear implementable four year operational plan.
With this clarity on approach and objectives, we were then able to develop a fundraising strategy for GMin. In addition, we mapped the donor landscape for the organisation and developed easily adaptable templates and reporting tools that GMin staff will continue to use long after our engagement is over.
The GMin team are now actively fundraising, and are on track to meet their operational objectives.
